Although Trent Edwards completed just 15 passes, he made the most of the distribution. Six different receivers finished with at least a reception.
Peters struggles
All-Pro offensive lineman Jason Peters had another sloppy day. He was flagged for holding in the first quarter and again for a false start in the second.
Greer is great
Jabari Greer made the biggest catch of the day, hauling in a Trent Green offering and running 33 yards to give the Bills a 20-14 lead.

While the weather gets chilly here, the Bills take a trip to the desert. If you thought this would be matchup of division leaders, we respectfully ask you to fill out our football cards.
BY QUARTER:
FIRST QUARTER
St. Louis 7, Buffalo 6
The Good: If only it could have stayed this way. Trent Edwards opened things up on the first play from scrimmage, tossing a deep ball that Evans hauled in for 49 yards.
The Bad: Anybody see Donnie Avery? After Trent Green hooked up with Torry Holt for 19 yards, the defense backed off and Avery ran 37 yards for a score.
Key Stat: Rams scoring drive — five plays, 67 yards.
SECOND QUARTER
St. Louis 14, Buffalo 6
The Good: Not much, but we liked the fact that Buffalo gave the shotgun a try midway through the quarter to mix things up. It didn’t work, though.
The Bad: It looks like Marshawn Lynch has gotten the Bills back into field goal range with a 27-yard run, and they’ll get a much-needed boost before the half. But a tripping penalty on Melvin Fowler came at an ugly time.
Key Stat: Bills average drive start was their 43. They got no points.
THIRD QUARTER
St. Louis 14, Buffalo 13
The Good: He’ll never by mistaken for J.P. Losman — hoo-ray! — but Edwards’ 11-yard scramble on a second and 7 was yet another example that he’s elusive enough when necessary.
The Bad: What happened on the two-point conversion? The least-penalized team in the league made what could have been a big mistake. Fortunately, it was just the Rams.
Key Stat: Bills had four rushing first downs.
FOURTH QUARTER
Buffalo 28, St. Louis 14
The Good: Pick your favorite — Jabari Greer’s 33-yard interception return for a score was great, but the Edwards-to-Evans connection was a great sign the Bills intend to go for jugular when possible.
The Bad: Tough to complain when it comes to a 14-0 quarter at crunch time. Trent Green’s 17-yard hookup to Randy McMichael was the Ramps’ longest play, but even that ended with a thunderous Ko Simpson hit.
