Bisons blanked by RailRiders

Tonawanda News — The Buffalo Bisons dropped their third straight game Wednesday, losing 5-0 to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at PNC Field in Moosic, Pa.

Buffalo was held to just six hits throughout the game, while the RailRiders scored as early as the first inning with what proved to be the game-winning run.

The RailRiders, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, scored one more run in the fifth inning when Antoan Richardson successfully stole home. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre added three more runs in the bottom of the eighth, while Chad Jenkins allowed just one hit in the top of the ninth while retiring three of the four Buffalo batters he faced, two by called third strikes.

The Bisons fell to 9-9 on the season and continue their series at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre tonight, beginning at 6:35 p.m.
