Bisons edge Charlotte 1-0 in 11 innings

Tonawanda News — Ryan Goins’ base hit in the bottom of the 11th inning scored the game’s only run, as Kevin Pillar crossed home to lift Buffalo to a 1-0 extra-innings win over the Charlotte Knights at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo on Friday night.

The hit came with two men on base and two men out.

The Herd and their visitors combined for 13 hits throughout the game, with Buffalo having seven hits to Charlotte’s six.

Austin Bibens-Dirkx was the Bisons’ winning pitcher. He improved his record to 1-1 on the season, while the Bisons improved to 15-10.

The same two teams will play again today, beginning at 1:05 p.m. at Coca-Cola Field.
