Tonawanda News — Jontay Walton piled up 30 points and the Cardinal O’Hara girls basketball team remained undefeated as all five Hawks starters reached double figures in a 94-33 win over non-league opponent Sweet Home.
Walton also added seven steals and eight assists and Anndea Ziegler posted a double-double with 10 points 10 rebounds for the Hawks (6-0, 1-0 MMA).
Keyonte Edwards also had 11 points with seven assists and seven steals while Kelsey McCarthy and Aisha Shabazz each reached double digits with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Hamburg 52, Starpoint 34
Jenna Faulkner hit three three-pointers and led all Spartans scorers with 13 points and Erica Bradley added 12 more as the Starpoint fell to 4-2 overall and 0-2 in ECIC II play.
Tonawanda 56, Barker 36
Alanna Herne topped the Warriors with 16 points and added four steals while Savanna Baughman led the way on the boards with eight rebounds to go with six points in the non-league win. Tonawanda improved to 5-1 (ECIC IV) overall on the season.
Lockport 78, North Tonawanda 6
Vince Eberhart, Kirk Feeney, Mitchell Seaver and Dontay Gill were the catalysts for the Lions, each winning their matches via pinfall, while Marquise Sanders and Robert Jones won their matches by decision in the NFL matchup.
Ken West 59, Ken East 12
Jackson Froy, Christian Bauman, Anthony Argentieri, Jacob Caod, Charlie Milks and Mark Stuke each picked up wins for the Blue Devils via pinfall while Zachary Saad, Anthony Pilot and Paul Bavisotto scored decision wins in the league match.

Cody McGregor, Sam Sparacino, Tim Barnard, Cory Adams and Christopher Mara led the Warriors, recording victories via pinfall in each of their matches during the ECIC IV matchup.

Josh Large’s match-high 685 series helped the Warriors hand the Wildcats their first loss of the season by a 4,501-4,450 count. Large rolled a 235 high game and Alex Ostrowski contributed a 607 series with a high of 237 as Tonawanda pulled even with Depew with identical 3-1 records.

Hannah Mussell’s 200 game and match-high 577 set coupled with Marina McClure’s 204-560 line led the Warriors as they improved to 4-0 in a matchup between undefeated schools. Michaela Morath also had a 525 set for Tonawanda in the 3,780-3,299 win.
Lew-Port 61, Ken East 41
Mitch Sembert finished first in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles and helped the Lancers sweep all three relay events. Dave Broderick also secured a pair of wins in the 200 IM and 100-yard breaststroke. Graham Jones was the lone winner for the Bulldogs, placing first in the 200- and 500-yard freestyles.
