Tonawanda tames JFK, 52-38

Tonawanda News — Ben Stich scored a team-high 19 points and Connor Pumm added 15 points of his own to lead the Tonawanda Warriors’ (7-6, 5-3 ECIC IV) boys basketball team past the JFK Bears (0-9, 0-6 ECIC IV) by a score of 52-38.

The Warriors’ performance was one that was solid, but will still need some work, according to head coach Hank Hughes.

“I think we came out strong tonight from the get-go and never really let up. We played some very unselfish ball,” Hughes said. “The only problem I really had was that we were just two-for-16 from the free throw line. That part of our game is going to need some work, but other than that, I think we played well.”

“Stich played a very intense game tonight and Pumm was a catalyst for us along the boards all night long,” Hughes said. “They were outstanding.”
