The Tonawanda News
Tonawanda News — The Board of Trustees, members, supporters and volunteers of the North Tonawanda History Museum wish to thank all who supported our four 2013 used book sales. Special thanks to those of you who have supported these sales since we began them as outdoor sales in 2006 during our period of searching for the ideal permanent home for the History Museum.
Donations of used books in bags and boxes come in steadily throughout the year from individuals and we are grateful to each donor. We are also grateful to the North Tonawanda Public Library, the City of Tonawanda Public Library, the Amherst Audubon Library and the Amherst Clearfield Library for their donations of used books.
Customers come from all over the Niagara Frontier. We have at least 70,000 used books to choose from at all times, with volunteers restocking during each sale as space becomes available because of purchased books.
The combination of donors and our wonderful volunteers who take the time to sort them and keep the shelves stocked during the four sales enables us to cover at least one month of operating expenses for the history museum each year.
Mark your calendars for our 2014 Used Book Sale dates: Feb. 1, May 10, Aug. 2, and Oct. 4.
