The Tonawanda News

City of Tonawanda

• CHARGED: Steven S. Mills, 33, 116 Robert Drive, Apt. 5, North Tonawanda, was charged at 4:51 a.m. Sunday with driving while intoxicated and a tinted windows violation.

Mills was traveling north on Main Street when officers said his vehicle had dark tinted windows and was weaving.

While being interviewed, Mills told police that he had only a short distance to travel to get home and asked if officers could escort him back. Mills also said several times that he knew he should not be driving, police reported. He was held for court.

• FIGHT: Police were called to the basketball court behind 284 Main St. about 5:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of a fight involving more than 20 youths, according to reports.

The ages of the people involved in the fight ranged from 14 to 27.

Several youths tried to run but were later caught. According to reports, the two groups had pre-arranged a fight between two boys, ages 16 and 15. Some of the youths said members of the “Fresh Boys” gang jumped one of their friends from North Tonawanda and that they were getting even.

Some of the same youths were involved in a fight Thursday at Gateway Park, police said.
