Bleu cheese break-in baffling

A breaking and entering call took a strange turn Monday when police found an unusual surprise left in the bed.

A Town of Tonawanda mother called to report that someone had entered her home while she was at work, broken two of her son’s PlayStation games, damaged one of the system’s controllers and poured bleu cheese dressing on his bed sheets. The family couldn’t think of anyone who would want to do something like that to them and police, according to police reports. The incident is still under investigation.

CHARGED: John C. Parker, 35, of Middleport, was charged with third-degree assault at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Police responding to a fight call found witnesses who said Parker punched a man in the face after the man cut him off while driving, according to reports. Parker is being held in lieu of $500 bail.

DWI: Melissa A. Ardillo, 24, was charged with driving while intoxicated, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and moving from a lane unsafely at 4:58 a.m. Sunday. Ardillo was stopped for weaving when the officer detected the odor of alcohol, according to reports. Ardillo allegedly failed multiple field sobriety tests and refused a chemical breath test, according to reports. Ardillo is being held in lieu of $500 bail.

DWI: Manas A. Kulkarni, 26, was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to obey a traffic device at 4:05 a.m. Saturday. Kulkarni was stopped for passing a red light when the officer detected the odor of alcohol, according to reports. Kulkarni allegedly failed multiple field sobriety tests and a chemical breath test revealed a 0.08 percent blood alcohol content, according to reports. Kulkarni was held for court.

North Tonawanda

CHARGED: Lynn M. Floveno, 46, 114 Jackson Ave., Lackawana, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with grand larceny after an investigation into an incident at 216 Payne Ave. Floveno is being held in lieu of $500 bail.

CHARGED: Jacob W. Logan, 33, 725 Shad Rd., was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted petit larceny. No bail has been set.

CHARGED: Raymond G. Banas, 36, 306 Schenck St., was arrested Tuesday and charged with disorderly conduct following an incident at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. He is being held in lieu of $100 bail.

CHARGED: Emery F. Mingle, 43, 48 Ganson St., lower, was arrested Tuesday and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Mingle is being held in lieu of $250 bail.

DWI: Richard R. Duerr, 19, 1383 Weaver Parkway, was arrested Monday and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated drugs. Police responded after the man drove his car into a ditch off of Walck Road. Duerr is being held in lieu of $250 bail.
