BLOTTER: Police reports published June 16

Staff Reports
The Tonawanda News

North Tonawanda

DRUGS: Victor J. Kritz, 51, 194 Mead St., Apt. A-5, was arrested Sunday afternoon for second-degree criminal contempt and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is being held in lieu of $500 bail.

Town of Tonawanda

WARRANT: Traneil Beaver was arrested on a warrant at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Beaver was stopped for speeding when the officer discovered a warrant out of Buffalo. Beaver was turned over to Buffalo police.

DWI: Philip A. Henhawk Jr. was charged with DWI, failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at 1:50 a.m. Saturday. An officer attempted to pull Henhawk over for suspended registration, but Henhawk allegedly refused to pull over and drove home, according to reports. Henhawk failed multiple field sobriety tests and a chemical breath test revealed a 0.12 percent blood alcohol content. He was held for court.

DRUGS: Michelle P. Reger was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at 3:03 p.m. Friday. Reger surrendered two marijuana joints to police after a traffic stop, according to reports. Reger was released on an appearance ticket.

FALSE REPORT: Jeffery J. Nowakowski was charged with falsely reporting an incident at 12:36 p.m. Friday. Nowakowski allegedly reported being hit by a van, but upon investigation officers determined the complaint to be unfounded. Nowakowski also registered a 0.19 blood alcohol content on a roadside screening device, according to reports. Nowakowski was sent to Kenmore Mercy Hospital for evaluation.

CONTEMPT: David J. Bogdan was arrested June 9 at 2:27 p.m. for criminal contempt after he showed up at the residence of Michelle Barclay, in violation of an order of protection. Barclay was also arrested for second degree criminal contempt after police learned that she was wanted on a warrant out of Buffalo.

POSSESSION: Robert J. Mills and Cherie N. Utter were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance June 9 at 11:05 a.m. Officers investigating a report of two persons using heroin located a vehicle occupied by two people who matched the description. Mills allegedly gave officers a false name, but Utter provided his real name. During a search of Utter’s purse, officers found two plastic bags containing a tan substance suspected to be heroin, a hypodermic instrument and a marijuana pipe. Inside the vehicle, officers found a second hypodermic instrument and a spoon. Utter reportedly told police the tan substance was crushed up Cheerios that she and Mills planned to sell. Mills was also charged with criminal impersonation. Both were held for a judge.

DWI: Kathleen A. Pletcher was arrested for DWI on June 6 after officers responded to a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Sheridan Drive. Pletcher’s vehicle was located in a nearby parking lot, where a witness had removed the keys from the ignition. The driver, Pletcher, had red, glassy eyes, impaired speech and motor coordination. She allegedly stated she had four beers and had been in an accident. She failed field sobriety tests and was told she was under arrest. Pletcher reportedly began to resist arrest and attempted to avoid being handcuffed by pulling her arms away and yelling “I’m not under arrest.” As she was brought toward the patrol car, Pletcher allegedly began to passively resist, going limp. At the police station, she began to resist arrest again and was physically restrained. According to reports, she registered 0.13 on a breath test. Pletcher was also charged with resisting arrest, operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver and leaving the scene of an accident.
