NORTH TONAWANDA: Divers pull body from river

The Tonawanda News

Divers pulled a man’s body from the Niagara River, just off Fisherman’s Park Friday evening following reports that the man went under while swimming.

Two teenagers called for help after they saw the man begin to struggle in the water.

Emergency personnel from nearly half a dozen agencies responded to the park to search for the man. His body was recovered around 7:30 p.m., a little over an hour after the report.

Look for additional information in Saturday’s Tonawanda News.
