KENMORE — A Buffalo teen accused of kidnapping, robbing and terrorizing two Kenmore women faced a long list of charges in village court Thursday afternoon.
Errol Fowler-Graham, 17, was processed by Kenmore police and escorted into court by Erie County sheriff’s deputies.
As he entered the courtroom, Fowler-Graham loudly complained of being photographed by various news cameras outside. Once he took a seat beside another prisoner, the young man spotted his family and began laughing, smiling and making hand gestures.
Village Judge Scott Riordan called Fowler-Graham up first and read the list of charges being brought against him in Kenmore. The man faces two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of kidnapping, one count of unlawful imprisonment, two counts of grand larceny, two counts of burglary and one counts of second-degree menacing. Similar charges were filed in Buffalo, where the initial abduction occurred.
At approximately 11 p.m., Fowler-Graham and another man, armed with a knife and a gun, approached a Kenmore woman getting our of her car in Buffalo and kidnapped her. The two men forced the woman into the back seat and drove to her house, where they then demanded the woman go inside and wake her roommate. The kidnappers held the two women hostage, driving them around to various ATMs to empty their bank accounts.
Buffalo Police Spokesman Michael DeGeorge said officers arrested Fowler-Graham at approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday, the day after police staked out the stolen car.
The second suspect is still being sought.
Fowler-Graham initially told Riordan he didn’t understand the charges being brought against him, but declined another reading of the list. The teen is not employed, so Riordan began the process of assigning him a lawyer and set a felony hearing for 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Fowler-Graham’s mother declined to comment as she exited the courthouse, but said she will be providing interviews soon.
