• The Tonawanda Board of Health decided to issue letters to all stores along the east side of Main Street between Young and Broad directing them to place their rubbish at the rear of their places of business Monday mornings in time to be collected by city trucks. Hopefully this would eliminate the present unsightly conditions.

• A full page ad in the NEWS read: “I Need You….Women of the Tonawandas.
