Davis announces city appointments

Tonawanda News — City of Tonawanda Mayor Elect Rick Davis, who will be sworn in on Jan. 1, has announced his appointments for associate city court judge, administrative assistant and executive secretary. 

The associate city court judge is appointed every six years, and the term is up in 2014. Davis has appointed Dean Lilac Jr. to the position. Lilac, a lifelong resident of the city, graduated from the University of Akron School of Law.

“Mr. Lilac is experienced as a prosecutor, criminal defense lawyer and a court hearing referee,” Davis said. “He also brings a very high level of ethics that I feel are required for the job.”

Lilac will replace Mark Saltarelli. 

Davis has appointed Charlie Rech as his Interim Administrative Assistant. Rech, a Tonawanda graduate who received a degree in regional management from the University of Pittsburgh, was an associate partner for the IBM Corporation and the senior management consultant to the county executive.

“Mr. Rech brings in more than 25 years’ experience both in private and public sector governments and businesses,” Davis said.

Caitlin Rech will serve as Davis’ executive secretary. Rech graduated from Mount Ida College and has been working at the Heritage centers and Horizon Health Services.

“It’s an honor to serve my hometown and I hope to be able to contribute to its growth and quality of life,” she said.
