• The Kenmore Farmers Market moved to the Village Green near the Municipal Building.

• NT residents Brandon Dziura, 19, and Greg Jablonski, 16, were named Junior Players of the Year by the Buffalo District Golf Association.

1988 — 25 years ago

Judith Pinsker, a former Kenmore resident, was the author of a new novel, “A Lot Like You,” which was written to inspire people to love themselves so that they are better able to love others.

• “The Morning of the Marys,” an Easter drama, was presented at the dawn Easter Service of the Tonawanda United Methodist Church.

• Three new members of the Rotary Club were inducted into the ranks of the service organization. Candidates were Norman Carpenter, Alex Saxon and James Budwey.

• The Women’s Shakespeare Club was entertained by Miss Emily Jacobs at her home in Adams Street. Miss Ruth Seaman, club president conducted the business session. Speaker Dr. H B Dengan gave a most interesting illustrated lecture on “Mushrooms.”
