Tonawanda News — The Town of Tonawanda is holding a second public meeting to discuss updating the munipality’s comprehensive plan, a press release from Supervisor Anthony Caruana’s office states.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. April 22 at the Brounshidle Post, 3354 Delaware Ave., Kenmore. The comprehensive planning committee will review the preliminary study findings and recommendations at the event, and residents will be able to offer their feedback.

The proposed suggestions include ideas for land use and zoning, economic development, parks and recreation, neighborhoods and housing, community facilities and transportation.

“The town wants to ensure that the master plan is relevant and up to date to help guide future growth and improve the overall quality of life in the community,” the statement reads. “The master plan is one of the most important tools that a community can use to establish a vision for the future and set effective goals and objectives for achieving that vision.”

The town has hired URS Corporation, WWS Planning and Gordon Strategic Planning to assist with updating the master plan. Representatives from those companies will provide a brief presentation and moderate an open discussion to generate public input.
