Two die in NT fire

Tonawanda News — North Tonawanda firefighters responded to the scene of an apparent double-fatal house fire on Third Avenue late Monday.

Officials refused to confirm the fatalities but witnesses said two bodies were removed from the house and Niagara County Coroner Joseph Mantione was called to the scene. Twin Cities ambulances called for the victims did not leave immediately after the victims were brought out by firefighters.

Witnesses said the victims were a man and a woman. No information on their identities was released. 

The fire was reported about 10:15 p.m. and additional units from at least the City of Tonawanda Fire Department were called to respond as well.
