Ken-Ton teacher resigns

Tonawanda News — The Kenmore Middle School teacher who was being investigated by police for inappropriate contact with a student has resigned, Superintendent Mark Mondanaro said Wednesday. 

Mondanaro said he just learned of the teacher’s resignation Wednseday afternoon. Mondanaro also identified the teacher as a male. He said he will release a statement today about the matter and declined further comment.

The alleged incident between the teacher and a student was reported to Town of Tonawanda police May 7, Lt. Nick Bado said. Police then began investigating, but no charges had been filed by late May. 

At the time, Mondanaro said in a statement that the teacher was immediately placed on administrative leave after the report was filed.
