Wilson crash victims identified

Tonawanda News — TOWN OF WILSON — The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two victims who were killed during a three-car accident Wednesday on Wilson Burt Road.

The sheriff’s office said 69-year-old Ronald Zauner and 58-year-old Cathy World, both of Wilson, were killed during the accident, which occurred in front of 4850 Wilson Burt Road Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies arriving at the scene found both victims still in their vehicles and unconscious. The sheriff’s office said Zauner was removed from his vehicle by sheriff’s deputies and Wilson firemen and pronounced dead at the scene.

World was removed from her vehicle by members of the Wilson Fire Department and transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of a third vehicle, Frederick Lederhouse, 58, of Ransomville, was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane, by members of the Olcott Fire Co. The sheriff’s office said Lederhouse is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

All three vehicles were occupied only by their drivers. Investigators said there does not appear to be any alcohol or drug involvement on the part of any of the three drivers at this time. No charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation.
