Tonawanda News — A Tonawanda man now being treated for E. coli has hired a lawyer after consuming pizza produced by Farm Rich, a subsidiary of Buffalo-based Rich Products.
The company recently issued a recall of frozen food thought to be tainted with E. coli.
Robert Ormsby Jr, is being treated in the intensive care unit at the Veterans Administration hospital in Buffalo, according to the Dietrich law firm, which is representing the teen. In the statement, lawyers said Ormsby had eaten pizza slices produced by the brand prior to becoming ill.
“(Ormsby’s) condition is very serious and will require many more weeks of hospitalization as a result of the E. coli infection that occurred as a direct result of Robert consuming the contaminated Farm Rich product,” the firm said in a statement.
The firm did not say what form of damages the family is seeking.
