• Tonawanda Middle School’s production of “Peter Pan” featured Rachael Elliott as Peter Pan and Bethany Glenn as Wendy.

Brett Sommer announced his intentions to seek a second term on the NT Council.

1988 — 25 years ago

• In appreciation for the upswing in business at Spaulding Fibre, management said thanks to its employees by giving each a 20-pound turkey.

• Brownie Troop 175 from Fletcher School honored hostage Terry Anderson by celebrating Easter with his sister, Mrs. Peggy Say, of Batavia.

1963 — 50 years ago

• Five hundred members of the Erie County Restaurant Liquor Dealers Association increased the price of bottled beer, highballs and cocktails by a nickel.

Ethel Merman, Broadway’s musical first lady, was set to open Melody Fair’s season. Also scheduled for later in the season were Johnny Mathis and Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme.
