• A 91-year-old cast house, the first cast house built in New York state, was being razed at Tonawanda Iron as part of the facility’s $1 million modernization program. The building housed Tonawanda Iron’s blast furnace.

Marvin Korinke, organist and special representative for the Wurlitzer Co., entertained more than 600 members of the American Theater Organ Enthusiasts (ATOE) with a program of organ music at Melody Fair.
