Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Carl Reiner and Rose Marie were among the stars who reunited after 40 years for a television special “The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited.”

• After more than two hours of intense negotiating, the North Tonawanda Housing Authority officially agreed to let Sheldrake Organization of Long Island take over the Scarfone and Nor-Ton apartments.

• L.A. Management and Restaurants bought the closed Woodshed Restaurant on Sweeney Street. It was reopened as the Woodshed II.

• More than 3,000 people attended a country fair and cow bingo program sponsored by the Niagara Wheatfield Music Parents and Community Boosters Club.

Lt. John Ambrusko, M.D., serving with the military in the Pacific, was home on a two-week leave while recuperating from wounds received near the Solomon Islands.

Mrs. Otto Zimmerman received a letter from her son Sgt. Richard Zimmerman who had witnessed the destruction caused by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius while serving in the area.
