Boy, 12, dies after collision

Tonawanda News — The victim was taken to Erie County Medical Center.

The bicyclist was riding with his eyes closed, the report states, and swerved into the southbound lane of traffic. The cement truck driver attempted to avoid the bicyclist, but was unable to.

Another accident occurred Monday, when a 15-year-old boy was hit on Niagara Falls Boulevard.

Rachel Tomasik-Lobaugh, a Tonawanda resident, was southbound on Niagara Falls Boulevard at 4:05 p.m. when her SUV collided with the boy near the intersection of Greenhaven Terrace.

The boy was rushed to Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, where, earlier this week, he was listed in critical but stable condition. Police were not able to provide an update on his condition Friday, but said accident investigators will be following up next week.
