Kenmore teen hits classmate with SUV

TOWN OF TONAWANDA — A Kenmore teen was arrested Friday after running over a classmate with an SUV during a fight, Town of Tonawanda Police said. 

Liana Nieves, 18, was charged with first-degree assault following the incident and is now being held at the Erie County Holding Center. The victim, Madeline Silvia, 17, was taken to the Erie County Medical Center with serious injuries to her pelvis and spine. She was listed in fair condition as of Monday afternoon. 

The fight occurred on Chaplin Drive in the town at around 10:10 p.m, following a verbal disagreement between the two teens. 

Both girls attend Kenmore West High School, police said.
