Volunteers needed for open house

Tonawanda News — The Ken-Ton Closet, which provides clothing and school supplies to children in the district, is asking for volunteers for its open house set for Tuesday, organizer Jill O’Malley said.

The open house is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the closet, located inside the Town of Tonawanda Sheridan Youth Center, 169 Sheridan Parkside Drive.

Those interested in volunteering should contact O’Malley at jillomalley@ktpa.org.

Ken-Ton students who would like to donate items can bring winter clothing to Edison and Roosevelt elementary schools, Franklin middle, as well as Kenmore East and West high schools. Items are also being collected from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bumblebeez Consignment Shop, 906 Brighton Road.

Families in need of winter clothing, supplies and toiletries are invited to come to the open house. School counselors and teachers are also welcome, O’Malley said.
