Tonawanda News — Vincent James Cottone, the owner of Malone's Bar and Grill in Kenmore, has been killed, police said.

Police were called to Cottone's home, located at 21 Landers Road, at 11 a.m. Sunday, and found the victim's body, a press release from the department states.

Cottone, 62, succumbed to blunt force injuries, and police are investigating the case as a homicide.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office and Erie County Central Police Services Forensic Laboratory are assisting Kenmore police with its investigation. The department is not releasing any further information.

During an interview with the News in February, Cottone said he fulfilled a lifelong goal of owning a restaurant when he bought Malone's in August.

An employee of Malone's who was reached Sunday night said she was startled by the news, but didn't have any further comment about the incident.
