• The Niagara Floral Center and Greenhouse at Opportunities Unlimited began taking orders for a Valentine’s Day flower sale.

• Erin Joy Burris celebrated her 6th birthday.

1988 — 25 years ago

• Coast Guard Cadet First Class Tom Gregen spoke to students at St. Mark’s Lutheran School about his sailing experiences aboard the tall ship Eagle.

• The Carrousel Society was awarded a $2 million grant from the State Environmental Quality Bond Act for structural repairs and reconstruction of the roof at the roundhouse.

1963 — 50 years ago

• Two Twin City nurses, Miss Susan B. Goodwin and Miss Edith E. Pelton, both of whom were employed at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, were commissioned in the Air Force Nurse Corps.

• Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Konieczny of First Ave., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a High Mass at OLC Church where they had been married in 1913. Mass was followed by a dinner party at Warren’s Steakhouse.
