Tonawanda News — A nurse, who worked at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport, was charged with grand larceny for an alleged theft of $1,350 on June 18 in the emergency room.
Kristina M. Brodfuehrer, 28, 391 Wheatfield St. lower, North Tonawanda was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny. Brodfuehrer, who was charged on Aug. 8 and appeared in Lockport City Court on Monday, now works at Mount St. Mary’s in Lewiston.
According to the report, an elderly woman took her husband to ENH-Lockport around 2:30 a.m. on June 18 for a medical emergency. While she was in the emergency room, she placed her purse just above her husband’s bed. At some point during the night, someone had gone through the victim’s purse and removed cash.
The only time the purse was out of sight was when the nurse “Kristina” was in the room with the curtains drawn. The case was turned over to detectives. Detective Lt. Scott Seekins and detective Kevin Schrader conducted interviews and depositions were obtained.
Fingerprints were taken and Brodfuehrer was released on her own recognizance. She has a court appearance with her attorney the week of Aug. 26
