Tonawanda News — For those old enough to remember the Buffalo Bills' rivalry with the Miami Dolphins in the 1970s, part of the dislike was the fact Buffalo couldn't beat Miami until 1980. FC Buffalo welcomes an archrival Friday evening that has yet to lose to the Blitzers.
FC Buffalo hosts the Erie Admirals in a National Premier Soccer League match tonight, beginning at 7 p.m., at All-High Stadium in Buffalo. The Blitzers put a three-game winning streak on the line, but since their inception in 2010 have lost six times to the Admirals and drawn once.
• The Empire Revs, in their first year as members of the second-tier Women’s Premier Soccer League, host FC Binghamton on Saturday at noon at Lew-Port's Blakely Field. Holding a record of 2-1 so far this season, the Revs usually host home games at ther University at Buffalo. Admission to Saturday's match is just one dollar. • The WNY Flash, playing in the top tier women's pro league, the National Women's Soccer League, put their five game unbeaten streak on the line Saturday when they travel to play the Washington Spirit. The Flash have won four of their last five matches with the fifth a 2-2 draw. The team, which features U.S. National Team members Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd, hasn't lost a match since April 27.
