Tonawanda News — North Tonawanda Clerk-Treasurer Scott Kiedrowski announced his office will be hosting a veteran’s forum from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 9 at North Tonawanda City Hall.

Kiedrowski and Niagara County Clerk Wayne Jagow will team up with the county Veterans Service Officer. Veterans will be able to schedule a private benefits session with the officer for a one-on-one discussion to go over benefits that they or their families may be entitled and also ask any other service-related questions.

Kiedrowski stated that there are a number of new benefits available, and there have been many changes to various benefit programs that many veterans may not be aware of since they have left the service.

All veterans are reminded to bring their separation papers (DD214) so the service officer can assist with the types of questions that may be asked related to time in the armed forces. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided.

Kiedrowski will also sponsor a veterans’ bus trip starting at 9 a.m. Nov. 13 to the Niagara County Clerk’s office, where those who served can sign-up for the county Thank-A-Vet Discount Card program. There will be a light breakfast held at City Hall before the group departs for Lockport.
