Fred M. Carowick, Sr.


Fred M. Carowick, Sr., of North Tonawanda, entered into eternal life on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the age of 66, surrounded by loving family. Born in Todd, PA, Fred resided in North Tonawanda for forty-six years. Fred served in the U.S. Air Force/Air Police during the Vietnam War. He was an employee of Globe Metallurgical and a former employee of Roblin Steel and Ferro of Niagara Falls, NY. He was a member of O.L.C. Holy Name Society. Fred enjoyed golfing, traveling, cooking and spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of 43 years to Lorie (nee Kijowski) Carowick; dearest father of Helen (David) Benthin, Michelle Carowick and Fred (Emily) Carowick, Jr.; proud and loving grandfather of Kaitlin Benthin and Alexandra Carowick; dear brother of Mary Jane (Bob) Spoonhoward and Bill (Evon) Carowick. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be present to greet relatives and friends on THURSDAY, January 2nd from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the SABER FUNERAL HOME, 549 Oliver St., North Tonawanda (692-0271), where prayers will be offered on Friday at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church at 9:30 AM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Flowers graciously declined.
OLC Holy Name Society will have prayers on THURSDAY at 7:00 PM.
