NORTH TONAWANDA —
Barbara (nee Volansky) Valkosky, age 99, of North Tonawanda, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Crestwood Nursing Home. Born in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Barbara (nee Felix) Volansky and had been a resident of North Tonawanda for the greater part of her life. She was a former member of Ascension Parish volunteering in numerous activities, especially Bingo, and was currently a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish in North Tonawanda. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and until last year, she spent her winters in California with her family, where her wisdom, humor and unselfishness made her a valued part of their family life. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley W. Valkosky, who died in 1977.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Barbara Valkosky of Newcastle, CA; and three grandsons, Matthew, Daniel and Michael Valkosky. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-5 PM on Sunday at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 5 PM Sunday. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Calvary Cemetery in Punxsutawney, PA.
