William R. "Bill" Bush

NORTH TONAWANDA — William R. "Bill" Bush, age 81, of North Tonawanda, Sunday, November 11, 2012, at his residence, under the care of Niagara Hospice. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Clifford and Pearl Bush; and brother of the late Elinor Haas. A 1949 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, he was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Bill founded Bush Trucking & Landscaping, Inc., on Sweeney Street in North Tonawanda, in 1956, which continues to operate today in the City of Tonawanda. He was also employed by Spaulding Fibre in Tonawanda for 10 years. He was a member and past Trustee of Salem United Church of Christ and a member of Stephen Sikora Post 1322 American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, June E. (nee Schreiber) Bush; three children, Roger C. (Kathryn) Bush of North Tonawanda; Ellen M. (Stephen) Wylder of California; and Diane E. (Thomas) Nicholas of Tonawanda; eight grandchildren, Thomas (Katie), Karyn, Stephen, William, Lisa, Christopher, David and Angela; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Maxwell; and three sisters, Janice Cook of Florida; Nancy Leising and Sandra (John) Gaulocher of Clarence. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), in Tonawanda. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM in Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan Street in Tonawanda, by the Rev. Jeremy Lopez. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Church of Christ.
