Helen M. Cheskiewicz


Helen M.  (nee Banta) Cheskiewicz, age 85, of Tonawanda, entered into rest on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Johnson City, NY, she moved to Tonawanda in 1955.  Helen worked and retired in 1987 from Protective Closure, Co. in Buffalo. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, slot machines and working on puzzles.
Beloved wife of 17 years to the late Eugene Prosser, who passed away in February of 2013; and the late Leonard (Blackie) Cheskiewicz, who passed away in October of 1990. She is survived by her sons, James Schriver (Kathleen) and Leonard Cheskiewicz (Deborah). Grandmother of five grandchildren, Michael Schriver, Kristin (Schriver) Martin (William) and Leonard Cheskiewicz, Ellyn Cheskiewicz and Bryan Cheskiewicz.
Graciously participated in the Anatomical Gift Program at the University at Buffalo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 2 PM at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam St., Tonawanda. Friends invited. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Foundation of WNY, 225 Como Park Blvd., PO Box 590, Buffalo, NY 14240-0590.
