Chester S. Stachura, of Town of Wheatfield, entered into eternal life Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo. Born in Buffalo, Mr. Stachura resided in the Town of Wheatfield for almost 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a retired employee of IBM, Buffalo. Mr. Stachura was a life member of Adams Volunteer Fire Company since 1971, with 42 years of service where he also was a past president, vice president and secretary and founding member, and past director of Wheatfield Fireman's Benevolent Association. He was a member of Niagara County Fire Police Association, American Legion Wheatfield #1451, and the Korean War veterans. Chester was a member of the OLC Holy Name Society and was an adult funeral server. He also was a volunteer for the Lymphoma Society. In 2011 Chester received the President's Volunteer Award. He enjoyed cruising, traveling, dancing and spending time with his family.
Husband of the late Gloria (nee Swanson) Stachura. Dearest father of Walter (Barbara) Stachura, Elaine (Samuel) Alvord, Rachelle (Augie) Iadicicco and Chester A. (Claudette) Stachura. Proud and loving grandfather of Matthew, Jennifer, Joseph, Michael, Alexander, Liam, Deianara, Tessia and great-grandson, Carl. Good friend of the late Caryl Biecki.
The family will be present to greet relatives and friends SUNDAY, November 24 and MONDAY, November 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the SABER FUNERAL HOME, 549 Oliver St., North Tonawanda (692-0271). Family and friends are asked to gather at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on TUESDAY, at 9:30 AM. Entombment, family mausoleum, Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Chester's honor to the Lymphoma Society.
OLC Holy Name Society will have prayers on SUNDAY at 7:00 PM.
Adams Fire Company will have services on SUNDAY at 8:00 PM.
