NORTH TONAWANDA —
Joseph Pedini, Jr., age 81 of North Tonawanda, Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House, after a brief illness. Joseph was a Korean War Navy Veteran and served as a member of the crash crew in Oahu. He was member and past president of the Martinsville Civic Association. He worked as a truck driver for US Foods for many years and served as a union steward. He was a jazz enthusiast and played the saxophone. He was a lifetime member of the Niagara Sportsmens Club and served as a director. He loved hunting, fishing and photography.
Beloved husband of 58 years of Carol (Borczynski) Pedini; dear father of Maureen Law of Rochester, NY, Karen Pedini of Niagara Falls, Nancy Marotta of North Tonawanda and Susan Matteliano of Kenmore; grandfather of Michele, Peter, Melissa, Dominic, Angelina, Salvatore, Katherine and Arianna; great-grandfather of Hunter; brother of Rita Peruzzini of Phoenix, AZ and the late Geraldine Perpetus. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Friday from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon from St. Jude the Apostle RC Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
