Catherine "Kitty" Long


Catherine "Kitty" (nee Ball) Long, age 92, of Tonawanda, died on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Hospice Buffalo after a long illness. Born in Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Belinda (nee Radigan) Ball and had been a lifelong resident of the City of Tonawanda.  Kitty was a member of the Tonawanda Senior Citizens and the Salvation Army Golden Agers. She was the wife of the late Clayton D. Long; and mother of the late Clayton D. Long II.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine (David) Meister; and two sons, John R. Long and Richard (Donna) Long. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 1-4 PM on Monday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam Street, Tonawanda. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Church are preferred by the family.
