Walter J. "Wally" Wisniewski III

NORTH TONAWANDA — Walter J. "Wally" Wisniewski III, of North Tonawanda, passed away, suddenly, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 11, 2012.

Wally was born in Batavia, NY on June 12, 1976. He was raised in North Tonawanda and graduated from North Tonawanda High School, where he was a superior basketball and football player. He graduated from SUNY at Brockport with a BA in Physical Education and worked at Silver Creek CSD as a Physical Education teacher and coach and Niagara County Head Start as a Physical Education Supervisor. His gifts of educating children affected the lives of many students

An avid sports fan, football was his passion. He  enjoyed golfing and coaching his children's football and baseball teams through the North Tonawanda Athletic Association and Babe Ruth. His greatest love was his family.

Wally is survived by his children, James Garavaglia; his princess, Riley Rae Wisniewski, Walter Joseph Wisniewski IV; his wife of 10 years, Kristy (Garavaglia) Wisniewski; also survived by his parents, Walter and Mary Ann (Pratt) Wisniewski, Jr.; his sister, Elizabeth Wisniewski; and many close family members and friends.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, June 14th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday 10 AM in St. John de LaSalle R.C. Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, with the Rev. Slawomir Siok, SAC, officiating. Friends and family should assemble at the church. A private burial will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials may be made in Wally's name to to AA of WNY, Seneca Street Lower, Buffalo, NY 14210.
