Andrew J. Lucas

TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Andrew J. Lucas, age 81, of the Town of Wheatfield, formerly of North Tonawanda,        Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Elderwood at Wheatfield, after a lengthy illness. Andrew was known to everyone at Elderwood as the boss. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of Stephen Sikora Post #1322. He worked as a construction electrician with I.B.E.W. Local 237. He was a very active member of St. Jude the Apostle RC Church where he served as an usher, a    Eucharistic minister and a CCD teacher. He was also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Andrew enjoyed gardening and working around the house.

Beloved husband of Shirley (Salley) Lucas; dear father of John Lucas of Ransomville, Judith       (Kenneth) Wieland of North Tonawanda, Holly Prescott of Niagara Falls and the late Andrew J. Lucas, Jr.; grandfather of seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother of Michael (Marlene) Lucas and Msgr. John J. Lucas, both of Erie, PA, Frances Lucas of Girard, PA, and the late Anna Folmar; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Friday from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday from       St. Jude the Apostle RC Church at 10 AM. Entombment in Acacia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude the Apostle Building Fund.
