William E. Wells, age 78, of the City of Tonawanda, Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Buffalo General Hospital, under the care of Hospice. A resident of Tonawanda for the past 60 years, he was the husband of Alberta "Ruth" (nee Bowser) Wells, who died in 2003; and was the brother of the late Robert and Theodore Wells. William had been employed as a machinist for 45 years for Strippit in Akron. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and horseshoes.
He is survived by three daughters, Susan Quattro of North Tonawanda, Cindy (David) Mauger of the Town of Tonawanda, and Sandra (Charles) Deuser of Grand Island; nine grandchildren, William (Michelle), Michael, Joseph, Lacey (Keith), James, Casey, Kaleigh, Colten and Karli; six great-grandchildren, Haylee, Zachary, Tyler, Alexander, Kaitlin and Blake; two step-great-grandchildren, Mason and Avery; his longtime friend, Linda Hardison of Sanborn; two sisters, Lucille Campbell of Pittsburgh, PA and Joyce Roberts of Florida; and a brother, Kenneth (Linda) Lowmaster of North Tonawanda. Also nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), in Tonawanda, where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM Saturday. Friends invited. The Rev. Jeremy Lopez will officiate. A private burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Unit at Buffalo General Hospital.
