NORTH TONAWANDA —
Noel J. Quenneville, age 84, of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in Florida. Born in North Tonawanda, he was the son of late Noel and Dorothy (nee Witkop) Quenneville and had been a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. Noel served in the Navy at the end of WWII and then in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed as a millwright at the GM Engine Plant in the Town of Tonawanda before retiring. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, the Tonawanda Senior Citizens, the Salvation Army Golden Agers, and was a life-member of the VFW Post 7545 in Tonawanda. Noel was the husband of the late Betty (nee Hamm) Quenneville who died in 2011, and father of the late William J. Quenneville who died in 2001.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Mark) Salt; and three sons, Alfred (Rosita) Quenneville, Noel J. Quenneville and Daniel (Ellen) Quenneville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
There is no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM tomorrow (Saturday) at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam Street, Tonawanda. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to the American Heart Association are preferred by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Tonawanda.
