Leo H. PeQueen

CITY OF TONAWANDA — Leo H. PeQueen, age 85, of the City of Tonawanda, died on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at his residence, while under the care of Hospice. Born in Randolph, NY to the late Sidney and Eileen (Gehres) PeQueen, he had been a resident of the City of Tonawanda for the greater part of his life, and was the husband of Lee PeQueen who died in April of 2010; and grandfather of the late Chris Battaglia. Mr. PeQueen was the owner/operator of Sawyer Welding in Tonawanda. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II and a long-time member of the Niagara Frontier Fiddle Club, and the North Tonawanda Lodge 860 BPOE. Leo was also a    member of Moose Lodge 2273 and Randolph Post 0181 American Legion, both in Randolph, NY.  He was an avid hunter and member of the National Rifle Association.  

He was the father of Linda (Dave) Battaglia, Robin (Dave) Watson, and bonus dad to MaryLee (Ron), Tony, Dave (Colleen), Danny and Brent (Sunny); grandfather of Eric Battaglia, Justin, Paige and Grace Philips, Jessica Delo and Paige Carozzolo;  also survived by one sister.

Family will be present on Thursday, November 21, from 12 Noon-2 PM at JOHN O. ROTH   FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda, where a funeral service will be held at 2 PM, following the visitation. Friends invited.  Rev. Robert Fink will officiate. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Tonawanda, NY. Flowers gratefully declined.  Memorials may be made to The Hospice Foundation of WNY, P.O.
