Anita A. Simonds

GRAND ISLAND —

Anita A. (nee Victor) Simonds, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at home surrounded by family. Anita was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas and worked as a secretary in the City of Tonawanda school system. She enjoyed life and remained independent until her last days.
Beloved wife of the late Wells Simonds and the late Raymond Peters; and fond friend of the late Stanley Benbenyck. She is survived by daughters, Elaine (nee Peters) (late John) Abt of Cornelius, NC, Gloria (nee Peters) (Jim) Galoppo of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; five grandchildren, John M. (Mari) Abt, Janet (Glenn) Rogers, Sondra DeFranks (Tony Brindisi), Kellie (David) Russell, Travis (Pam) Galoppo; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Roman (Molly) Victor; and many nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom she adored.
A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
