William J. O'Neil


William J. O'Neil, age 90, of North Tonawanda, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Absolut Health Care in Gasport. A lifelong resident of the Tonawanda's, he was the son of the late William and Florence (nee Beasock) O'Neil. A US Army veteran serving in the European Theater during World War II, he was a member of OLC Church in North Tonawanda. William was known by many children as a School Crossing Guard stationed at the intersection of Oliver and Wheatfield Streets in North Tonawanda for many years. He was always helping his
family and his friends throughout his life.
He was a long time companion and friend of Betty McAnninch of North Tonawanda and her family.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday August 3rd at at 11 AM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William. St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. A private interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Assn.
