NORTH TONAWANDA —
Gerald Greenaway, age 85, of North Tonawanda, passed away July 29, 2013, following a brief illness.
Mr. Greenaway was born April 10, 1928 in Madera, PA, son of the late Blair and Mary Greenaway.
Gerald entered the United States Army Air Corp December 1, 1945. By April of 1947, he had been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged from the newly formed United States Air Force on November 5, 1948.
Gerald had worked for Spaulding Fibre. He then moved to Cherry Tree, PA to own and operate the Cherry Tree Diner. He had also lived in both Arizona and Florida for a time. His hobbies included crossword puzzles and his beloved dog.
Dearest brother of Marion (Arthur) Young and the late Wilma (late Allen) Earnst; loving uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with military honors will be held THURSDAY at 10 AM in Acacia Park Cemetery. (Please assemble at office.) The Rev. A.W. Moldenhauer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Wattengel Funeral Home.
