NORTH TONAWANDA —
Robert H. Holesko, Sr., age 82, of North Tonawanda, died on Monday, December 9, 2013 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born in Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (nee Zifra) Holesko and was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. A 1950 graduate of Tonawanda High School, Bob was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. A 25-year member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, he proudly founded Flotilla 03-01 in Youngstown, NY, becoming its first Commander from 2001-2003. Bob was a member of the Elks and the North Tonawanda Senior Center. He was the brother of the late Albert Holesko.
He was the fun loving husband of 59 years of Margaret (nee Lavey) Holesko; loving dad to Pamela (Rene) van Ee, Robert (Jody) Holesko, Jr., Susan (Bob) Scholz, Lisa (Lawrence) Boorom, and Andrew (Cheri) Holesko; and brother of Viola (Frank) Keller. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Friday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday at Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan Street at Main, Tonawanda. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to the North Tonawanda History Museum are preferred by the family.
