Craig A. Freer

HAMBURG —

Craig A. Freer, age 54, of Hamburg and formerly of Tonawanda, unexpectedly, on Saturday, February 8, 2014. A resident of Hamburg for the past 17 years, he was a 1977 graduate of Tonawanda High School and was a Charter Member of the Gastown Sportsmen's Club, carrying on the family tradition set by his father and grandfather (Arthur Scheitheir, Sr.) He was a 30 plus-year member of the Carpenters Millwright Local 276 and a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 0772 in Bolivar, NY. He enjoyed providing and being with his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and sportsmen and was just awarded "Hunter of the Year" by the Gastown Sportsmen's Club.
He is survived by the love of his life, Francine Bussman; four children, Samantha (Timothy) Meyers, Kyle Freer, Michael Rohauer and Heather Brill; his grandson, Hunter Meyers; his father, Donald Freer; his sister, Cheryl (Thomas Speck) Freer; his brother, Thomas (Linda) Freer; and his nephew, Christopher Freer. He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara (nee Scheitheir) Freer; and his step-mother, Diane Thomas.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Friday by the Rev. Jeremy Lopez. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park.
