Francis X. Elinski

TOWN OF TONAWANDA — Francis X. Elinski, of the Town of Tonawanda, died July 16, 2013, at the age of 81.

Born in North Tonawanda, the beloved husband of the late Madelyn Ryan; loving father of Karen, Kevin, Kathleen, Kristi, Karyl, Kim, Dennis, Jaquelin and the late Daniel; dear grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of one; brother of Carole Winder and the late Paul Elinski; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Francis was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School, St. Bonaventure University and earned his master's degree at University of Buffalo.

Elinski was a Korean War veteran and served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Marine Corps, retired English teacher and rifle coach at Tonawanda High School, was a NY State Policeman, played leadership roles in the Marine Corps League, Conrad F. Kania Detachment and the Steven Sikora Post of the American Legion, the United Way of the Tonawandas, a founder of Tonawanda Education Association and former member of the Amherst Male Glee Club.

Friends may visit Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home, 3000 Delaware Ave., where prayers will be held Monday at 8:30 AM, followed by a Mass of      Christian Burial at 9:15 at St. Andrew's RC Church in Kenmore. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Way of the Tonawandas, 34 Seymour St., Tonawanda, NY 14150.
