James Wesley Sauer

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — James Wesley Sauer, age 68, of the Town of Lockport, NY, entered into eternal life on Monday, June 30, 2014. Born in Buffalo, NY on September 13, 1945, he was the son of the late Elmer Wesley Sauer and the late Mary Agnes (nee Pool) Connors. Jim graduated from North Tonawanda High School, class of 1962, and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving most of his time in Germany, until being honorably discharged after three years. He worked in the steel industry all his life, starting out with Roblin Steel for over 20 years until they closed. Jim loved football, wrestling and he hated living alone.

Father of Lisa Marie Sauer of Tonawanda and James Michael (Rachel) Sauer of North Tonawanda. Grandfather of Rylan James Sauer. Loving brother of Marilyn June (William) White of LaFollette, TN, who tried to be a mother from the time Jim was five and she was eight, and Marie Irene (John) Reisinger of Tonawanda. Uncle of Marlin Lee (Rozanne) Carl, Mitchell Kenneth (Julie) Reszczenski, Michael David (Caroline) Crouse and Christine Marie Andres. Jim had many cousins in the U.S. And Canada, but the one he briefly lived with when young, and who remained his life-long friend was Charles Watkins of Depew, NY.

No prior visitation. Private funeral services were held at the SABER FUNERAL HOME (692-0271), with the Rev. William R. White officiating.
