John F. Prescott, Sr.

LOCKPORT — John F. Prescott, Sr., age 87, of North Tonawanda, Thursday, December 6, 2012, at        Niagara Hospice in Lockport. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, he was the loving husband of Marjorie (nee Howard) (Kindt) Prescott, who died in 2005; and brother of the late William and James Prescott. John was a 1943 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and was a US Marine Corps veteran of the South Pacific Theater, including the Battle of Okinawa. He was retired from the New York Telephone Co., with 36 years of service.

He is survived by three children, Karl M. (Margie) Kindt III of St. Louis, MO; John F. (Nancy) Prescott, Jr. of Depew; and Michael T. (Lori) Prescott of Pendleton; cherished grandfather of Karl IV (Marla), Matthew (Sharlene), John III (Evinlynn), Kelly, Michael Jr. and Daniel; and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday from 3:00-7:00 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), in Tonawanda, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday by the Rev. Richard Scheer. A private   burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Assn., or to Niagara Hospice in Lockport.
